Anniversary Number Three!

Tuesday was our 3 year anniversary! It doesn't seem like its been that long at all, and I don't think either of us thought that in 3 years we would be expecting baby number 2. We are very happy with how the past 3 years have gone. There has been some up's and down's but I think with any relationship there is. We had a nice day at home on Tuesday where JJ had to work that night. I was surprised and had flowers delivered to me that morning:) That afternoon I went and got one of our favorites Pizza Plus pizza and breadsticks for lunch. JJ also got us some cupcakes from the little cake place here in town, they were delicious!! Other than that we just relaxed at home till he had to go to work. Wednesday we then went to Salt Lake. Kyler stayed at my parents house, and thankfully did ok while we were gone. I was nervous because he is so particular on how he goes to sleep, but since he had grandma he was ok. While we were in Salt Lake we went to see "The Hunger Games" at the Megaplex. It was deffiently worth all the hype! JJ even liked it and hadn't read the book. After the movie we went to eat at California Pizza Kitchen, due to me having a craving for pizza and it raining so I didn't want to walk to far in the rain:) We then did some shopping around the Gateway and then headed upto the new City Creek Center. I loved City Creek and am looking forward to having some of the stores finally close! We stopped in the Disney Store and found Kyler a Mickey, Pluto, and Donald Duck to bring home to him. He loves them and hasn't let them go since we got home. After shopping we headed upto the Anniversary Inn where we stayed the night. It was so nice. Our room theme was "Mississippi Serenade" I felt like I was in a little cove though. It was so neat!  I especially loved the jetted tub and shower, it was nice to just relax for awhile without a little boy running around or crying, even though I missed him terribly. The shower came right out of the ceiling and was like a waterfall, I just loved it! We got complimentary cheese cake and cider last night and then this morning got to have breakfast in bed! It was a nice little getaway even for just being a night! We don't get out much especially just the two of us, and I think we both needed it! I am so grateful for everything JJ does for me and our little family. He is such an amazing husband and father! I'm looking forward to all the fun things we have to look forward to in the future!!

Few Cute Stories...pretty much just for me

I wanted to write these down to remember them later on. Kyler is defiantly in the terrible two stage but he has his moments where he is just so cute and I want to be able to remember those times. Since this has been my form of a journal lately I figured I'd put them here.
  • We went to Tepanyaki's in Layton for lunch yesterday, for those who have never been its a Japanese restaurant where they make the food right in front of you. One of the first things they do in grease the grill and then light it on fire. Kyler had watched them do it on some of the other tables before they did ours and it was so funny because he would scrunch his face all up and then go OOOO...he pretty much had the same reaction when they did it at our table, but that time he started to clap. Every time they did it or they do a onion volcano they do the fire in the middle of he would get the same scrunchy face and then point and go oooo...whoa. I so wish I could have gotten a picture of his face when he would scrunch it all it was just cute. He of course ate a ton. I'm not usually a big fan of any asian food but love their chicken teryaki so Kyler ate the rice and stir-fried vegetables that came with it. I have to say I'm glad he eats everything and isn't picky makes life alot easier!
  • There is a song my mom exercises to and she was showing me one day what they do to it and there's a part in the song where they say, "and your hands go up, and they stay there and they stay there." Well Kyler now is in love with the song and every time someone says that line or plays the song he raises his hands up and starts dancing. It just makes all of us laugh! There is another song that is on Rio that Will.I.Am sing called Drop It Low that he is obsessed with right now. We can turn it on when he throws a fit and he stops and will dance.
  • He loves being outside, which as lead to alot of trips to the park with all the warm weather we've been having. The other day we went and we were walking over to the play ground and he decided to run. He has the funniest run, he looks like Phoebe on Friends when she runs. It made me laugh so hard watching him. He loves to swing I think he would stay in one all day if he was able to.
  • He still isn't saying too many words, but talks in his own little language all day. I'll call up the stairs to JJ and then Kyler will go over and will start yelling his jabber until JJ answers him. Its so funny. If JJ doesn't answer him within a minute or so Kyler will then start cusing at him and pointing his finger and saying no-no.
  • This isn't one of my favorite things but is still pretty cute. He has learned how to splash us when he's in the bath. He'll get us wet and just start laughing, and then give us a smile and do it again.
  • We have a board in our living room that is for "Love Notes" my mom gave it to me last year for my birthday and it is the perfect spot to put announcements, cards, holiday cards and things like that. Well I decided to put the ultrasound pictures of Xander on there, so now every morning Kyler comes down the stairs points to them and then my belly and blows a kiss to the pictures. Its a great way to start off the day! He hasn't been able to feel the baby yet because the he is active at night when Kyler is asleep. I can't wait for Kyler to be able to feel him kick, and see his expression!
  • We went to Target the other day while we we're out and went over by the kids clothes section. While I was looking he started grabbing for a shirt. Its a very bright yellow but he wouldn't let it go. Since he doesn't have many warmer day clothes we decided to get him some there. He picked out most of them and I do have to say he has pretty good taste in doing so. He has looked so cute in the outfits we've had him in the past couple of days. He loves flip-flops too:) I ordered him some and they got here last week and we tried them on to see if they fit and from then on he didn't want them off, and the next morning when he found them he was trying to put them on himself and then brought them to me so I could put them on. I've been surprised at how well he walks/runs in them!
  • He will usually put himself down for a nap now. Whenever he gets tired he will go over to the stairs wave at me and then climb the stairs up to his room and climb in the glider and rock till he is asleep. I can't believe what a little boy he's getting to be.
These are just a couple pictures I snapped at the park the other day:

Well I think thats it for now:)

Pictures for Ky's B-Day Invites

I decided I was going to make Kyler's birthday invitations on photoshop this year. It wouldn't have been so hard if my computer would have cooperated with me. I spent most the day yesterday working on it. Also where the weather has been kinda crappy we had to take some pictures inside, but they still turned out cute! I just wish I could figure out how to clean my lens so they wouldn't look so fuzzy and weird. But they still turned out great of him!! We are so excited for his party and are hoping for good weather that day so we can just have it outside. I seriously can't believe he's going to be 2!! Where he is in love with Mickey Mouse we decided to do a theme with it. I ran across some birthday Mickey Ears online and ordered them for him. They are the only thing he will wear on his head, and he looks so cute in them! Here are the pictures....I'll upload the invites once we get them and send them out!

My Little Mishap

Yesterday I was all excited about having our new bed and finally being able to get a goodnights sleep! Well leave it to good ol'pregnant me to go and fall and bang my leg all up! Kyler has decided he would rather sleep in the glider in his room than in his bed. So I stay up and put him in his bed once he is asleep. He's lucky he's so cute and that I love his so much ;)

So I was laying in bed relaxing last night and realized that he was probably asleep, I get out of bed to go lay him in bed and tripped over a blanket! I immediately started to worry about the baby and if he was ok...I decided I'd get my wounds patched up and see if he would kick. Thankfully he did about 20 minutes later!! I was very releived..but in alot of pain. I have a 4"x2" patch of rug-burn on my knee, some on my elbow, a cut on my foot and ankle, and bruises all over my leg. I'm very thankful to have Tylenol so I can get a little relief and sleep. Rug-burn hurts alot worse than I remember! So for most the day today I was called Gimp by JJ or at least one member of my family...they are all so loving;) The most important thing is that baby has been kicking! I've still been worried over him and that he is really ok, but then I remembered I passed out with Kyler and fell harder then than I did last night and Kyler was ok. If anything starts to feel weird though I will be going to the doctor ASAP! Even though I was in pain most the night, the sleep I did get was heavenly and I'm looking forward to getting more once I'm done with this post! Kyler loves the bed too..he has a little trouble getting on it but once he does he gets the biggest smile on his face and either starts jumping or will lay down. I think he likes it just as much as we do! But with the way he is growing I'm sure we will have to make his bed into the twin here shortly! Maybe then he'll start sleeping in his bed again. Here's to a speedy recovery lol....also I'm now 22 weeks along!! There probably won't be a belly picture this week due to the fact of my leg, but I can definetly tell he is growing...I swear my belly gets bigger by the day! I can't believe in just 4 months we will have another little one in our home:) I so can't wait to hold him!!

Early Anniversary Present!

We got our anniversary present early today:) and I'm in love with it!! We have been wanting a new bed for a while now and after finding an awesome deal at a place in Ogden finally decided we would get it as an anniversary gift, since its in 10 days. I honestly can't wait to go to sleep tonight! Its so much more comfy and bigger than our last plus I'll get to have it all to myself  tonight since JJ will be at work lol. Anyways the pictures aren't that great because my camera was about to die, the pillows look sad too because we need bigger ones, but overall you get an idea. we are still working on the rest of the room, if I feel like posting pictures when its done I will if not this is what ya get :)

^These are my latest creation, of course I found out how to do them on pinterest but I love how they turned out.
We also re-decorated our bathroom a few weeks ago in a mickey mouse theme since Kyler and I love Mickey! Kyler still runs in and hugs the rug before he gets in the bath!

I'll have to post pictures of the boy's room once we get it finished. We had got these medal tile things for their names but then found out later they don't carry them in an "X" so I'm trying to decide how I'm going to do it. I'm excited on how the room as came together though, it looks alot better being all boy than I think it would have being half and half. We also got a shipment of stuff for the new baby this week and it made me all excited...even though most of it was just bottles, binkies, and diapers. I hope the next 4 months go by quick! I can't wait to have our little Xander here:)

Derek's Mission Call

My brother Derek recieved his mission call today! We were so excited to finally have it here and for him to open it.
My mom had us all guess on a map where he was going before he opened it. People picked the Caribbean, lots of places in South America and Europe, and states like California, Washington, and North Dakota. Well come to find out not a single person was close...go figure lol!
He has been called to serve in the Tampico, Mexico mission. (and yes like the drink!)
He will enter the MTC on June 13th! Which is only 13 days after Colton gets home.
We are very thankful he will at least get to be here for the almost 2 weeks after Colton gets home so we can be a full family just for those few days. It's crazy to think Colton is almost home and that Derek will be leaving so soon after. I am so very proud of my brothers and for the decisions they have made to serve missions! Rhett's turn will be in 3 years which will give us a whole year to be together in between. He is a great example too! I have often complained about my brothers because of how they tease and fight with me and each other but now that I'll have 2 boys I'm so grateful to have had my brothers and hope my boys will follow in their uncle's and father's footsteps! I have some amazing men in my life and am so grateful for it. Especially for the priesthood they hole and all the wonderful blessings it as brought to me and my little family as well as my bigger family:) I love my whole family so much and am so grateful for every single one of them and the examples they are to me. My mom has been so strong with letting my brothers go and especially when she here's about Colton struggling at times and tonight I realized I'll be going through the samethings once my boys get to that age whether it missions or military or whatever they decide to do and it made me realize how hard its going to be to watch them go through tough times and be away from them for long periods of times. I'm very glad that Kyler is still just almost 2 and that the other is still in my belly, even though I wish everyday it was July, I want to just enjoy all the time I have with them especially when they are little and cute, and before they get to much of an attitude. I just love them so much and look forward to the times ahead as well.
Enough with my rambling though, we are very excited for Derek and for him to be able to go out and teach and serve the people in and around the Tampico, Mexico area. We are going to soak up the next few months we have with him!

Homemade Playdough!

Again thank you Pinterest! I found a recipe for homemade playdough and decided to make some for Kyler to play with. He wasn't quite sure what to think about it at first, and didn't like the taste of it at all! But once he found he could tear it apart and smush it on the table he was in love! I know he's going to want to play with it a lot more often now, and it'll be nice because it entertained him for a good hour before he started getting sleepy. If you want the recipe its at the bottom of the post:) Here are some of the pictures I snapped while he was playing with it.

Recipe:
1 Cup Flour
1/2 Cup Salt
1/2 Cup Water
3 TBS. Vegetable Oil
1 Package of Koolaid*
Mix all ingredient in a pot and cook on medium heat till its the consistency you want.
Let cool before letting the little ones play with it, then store it in an air tight container.
*We just bought the containers of Koolaid mix so I added about 2 TBS. of the mix and it made the colors very vibrant, also it makes a bigger portion than what pictured I gave Kyler half of it to play with today and stored the rest of it.

Handmedowns and Leftovers

Since we now know we are having a boy I'm very much ready to get everything ready and organized for him. We won't be putting up the crib for a while, due to the fact Kyler would probably try to destroy it. We did put the dresser together today and we're very lucky we were able to with handy man Kyler trying to do it. It is extremely cute watching him try to screw and hammer things in with his play tools and thinking he's being like his dad! Once we got that together we went through Kyler's baby clothes, man did he have a ton!! I D.I.ed alot of it and still have 3 drawers of clothes from newborn-6 month stuff. I don't know if this baby will be able to wear some of the 6 month stuff but we got it out just in case he's like his brother and grows super fast. I can't believe Kyler was once in those teeny-tiny clothes just under 2 years ago and is now almost wearing 4T. It made it alot more real that we are having another boy going through all of the clothes and thinking about putting him in them. It also got us wondering if he'll have coloring like Kyler or if he'll have darker eyes and hair. I just can't wait to meet him:)
Because we had so many handmedowns and things we didn't get to use because of how quick Kyler grew there is very little we need to buy. I found brand new sleeper from Carter's, that I put away because Kyler just didn't need them all or they were double of ones we already had. Its mostly just the hygiene items, diapers, formula, and decorating that we have to worry about:)
I have to give a quick shout out to Diapers.com, they are having their baby sale right now and have some awesome deals. We bought some bottles, binkies, and the first case of diapers today and got amazing deals on them all! I buy Kyler's diapers/training pants from there because for how many you get its been the cheapest place to buy them. So if you haven't checked them out yet, I highly recommend them!!
Hopefully now I can go get some sleep. I don't think he liked being pocked at during the ultrasound yesterday he didn't let me get much sleep last night and then I woke up very sore this morning that might be my body not liking it though. He has his night and days mixed up right now, he kick all night and then during the days is pretty still. I hope that changes before he gets here! I can't wait for Kyler to be able to feel the kicks though. Since yesterday I'll ask were baby brother is and he will point to my belly and then to the ultrasound pictures on the fridge. I'm hoping once he feels it he might be able to make even a further connection to whats going on.
Also in Kyler news, he is clearly saying NO-NO! At least he will to J.J. or my brothers when he feels like it or I laugh and he keeps doing it because he thinks he's being funny. J.J.asked him yesterday if he was spoiled and he looked at him and said No and laughed. I'm glad we at least have one word out of him even though its small:) I just still can't believe he'll be 2 next month and for that fact we have another one on the way that will grow up just has fast if not faster!

Baby #2 is a....

BOY!!!!
We were a bit surprised, but are so happy and excited to have another little boy around! Kyler got to come with us to the ultrasound and that was kinda neat to see his response to what he saw on the screen. He wanted to play with all the equipment in the room, but would stare at the screen every so often and giggle and give me a big smile. I think he will absolutely love having a little brother since he is mostly surrounded by girls right now. During the ultrasound they measured everything before showing us the gender, but while they were looking for the kidneys was when I saw the little boy part first, and immediately got emotional. JJ was shocked and just couldn't believe it, but is so happy to be having another little guy. Everything with him looks good and he is right on schedule with how he is growing. He is starting to be very active and I feel him kicking and moving a lot especially at night. It was so cute to see him in the ultrasound he was sucking at times and also kinda waved to us at one point:) He was kinda squished between the placenta and uterine wall so we got some interesting images of him trying to peek through and trying to hit the ultrasound thing away. His heart rate was 156 this time, that was first sign to me it was a boy. That was exactly what Kylers was at my 20 weeks check up with him. I can't wait for him to get here, knowing that its a boy makes it more real and especially since we have a name already and are already calling him by it:)
Xander Stephen Harris
We just love the name Xander not much behind it. Stephen is after my late grandfather who I was extremely close to and miss very much!
Anyways here are some pictures from today!

Kyler's first Bike & Playing at the park

I came across this trike while shopping online and decided to get it for him. It has Mickey Mouse all over it so I knew he would love it...and boy does he. He doesn't quite know how to pedal it yet but its nice because it has a bar in the back so I can direct it and it is kinda like a stroller. The first set of pictures are of him playing with it right after we got it together. He sat on it all day!!

Then today after we got home from dinner with J.J.'s family he was being grumpy so I decided to take him to the park. That cheered him right up, he just wouldn't look at me for many of the pictures. And as you can probably tell he is obsessed with Mickey Mouse! The little plush Mickey has replaced his turtles and is now what he carries around all day. We went shopping yesterday and he saw the shirt he is wearing and was grabbing at it, I handed it to him and he started hugging it, so of course he got it! We've decided his birthday will be Mickey Mouse themed since he's so in love with it. I'm really excited for his birthday, I just can't believe he's going to be 2!!
