Kindergarten Round-Up

How in the world is Kyler already big enough to be in Kindergarten!?! I'm freaking out!

Today we went to Kindergarten Round-Up and met some of the teachers and the principal, which to my surprise is an old teacher of mine. They just did some screening to see what all Kyler knew, he had a hard time concentrating because there was basketball hoops everywhere at the place they held it, but he still did really good. He usually gets bashful around people he doesn't know, but he didn't  have a problem talking to the teachers and answering their questions. Thank You Preschool!!

I just can't get over that he's going to be going to school everyday and the fact he will be 5 next month! Time needs to slow down:/ and I know it won't. There's a really good chance Xander will be in Preschool this fall too and the thought of not having either one of them home somedays is killing me!

I am so proud of Kyler though. He is just so smart I can't believe some of the words he knows and the things he says. He may not speak as clearly as some kids his age still but he keeps getting better and better each day. He is very strong willed and I know that as he grows it's going to become such a blessing. I love him so much and as sad as it makes me to see him grow it also gives me such joy, and I'm excited to see him learn even more in Kindergarten.

St. Patrick's Day

Growing up St. Patrick's Day wasn't anything we really celebrated. We wore green so we wouldn't get punched at school and that was really it. The past few years it's been the same thing for us too. This year I decided to do something a little fun for the boys and do a Green Breakfast, which was really a snack thus nothing really healthy on the plate besides the milk.
They loved it! Kyler kept saying, "This is so cool Mom!" Which put a smile on my face, that they actually enjoyed it!
We didn't do much else, just played outside and watched movies. After dinner we did make Homemade Shamrock Shacks, which were delicious! Kyler ran down the stairs as soon as he got his, but Xander let me snap a picture:)

Front Room Refresh

Since the end of January our Front Room has been in complete disarray due to us giving it a little update. So if you thought I was being rude because I wouldn't let you come to my house, this has been why;)
Most our top floor is a dark khaki color and I was so sick of looking at it! Our carpet was horribly stained with red punch, syrup, and anything else the boys could have possibly gotten on it. We had small baseboards but no other moldings. I didn't know what to do with the windows I hate valances and curtains were just to much for those little windows. And you don't even want to get me started on the gross micro-fiber couches! After Christmas we got talking and we knew we were going to at least repaint this room. Then Xander one night after bedtime snuck out found my foundation and mascara and decided it was paint time! All over the couches and floor!! Most of it came out of the carpet but not so much on the couches. So as if they didn't already look awesome, they now had big blobs of black mascara all over them. At this point we decided we were just going to redo the whole room. It desperately needed it!!
Doesn't it look so much better??

So here is a list of everything we did!
•Ripped out the Carpet and Tile in the Entryway<that was fun...not!
•Painted the Walls
•Installed New Light and Face Plates
•Installed and Painted Crown Molding
•Added Window Casings
•Installed Laminate Flooring
•Installed and Painted Baseboards
•Put up an extra tall metal baby-gate
(It sure seems like we did so much more)

Now the pictures aren't the best. One, they were done at night. Two, even with a new light, lighting still isn't great. And Three, I took them with my phone!

For most people it wouldn't have taken a month and a half to do all that. But I seem to not have an immune system since the new year struck and have been sick, as well as pulling my back half way through during the floor, and JJ has been working a lot. But it so paid off!

Then came my favorite part...Decorating! I had this green dresser tucked away for like a year and a half and could never decide what I wanted to do with it, but I loved it. I decided to bring it out at Christmas Time to change this up, and then I knew I wanted it there for sure. So decorating the room went off of it. I found a rug that matched it but I wanted more than just green. Then I found the coffee table in the classifieds pages and loved it so then we had our colors, and Hobby Lobby and a little paint pretty much did the rest! We still have pieces that we used before they have just been moved or repainted.

Now I'm not just saying this, but it does look better in person. I love seeing people's reactions to it when they come over now, and I don't feel as embarrassed! I love how it turned out, and love even more that it is over with! We have plenty of other projects around here to get done, but this mama is going to give her body a rest for a bit.

Disney On Ice: Let's Celebrate!

On Thursday we got to go to Disney On Ice Let's Celebrate.

It was by far the best one we have been too. There were so many characters and they went through most of the Holidays.
Kyler recognized every character and would get so excited when they would first come out. He would look over at me and tell me who it was and then clap.

Xander is in love with Minnie right now so anytime she was out he was glued.

We had gotten the boys some cotton candy and marshmallow pops and they both came with hats. Xander insisted on wearing the crown and told me he was prince charming! I snapped a picture of JJ in the pirate hat and he said if he had to take a picture so did I.
I loved getting out with all my boys! JJ has been working so much lately it was nice to have a night out with us all!

The Dentist!

Last year we knew Kyler needed to go to the dentist because we could see he was getting cavitiies. Our insurance assigned us to one specific dentist and wouldn't let us go to a pediatric one. So we tried to get him to go and the whole time we were there he threw a fit. So this year we switched dental insurances and got both boys right in.

Xander had 1 cavity. When we went to get it filled he threw a fit so they gave him some oral sedation which made him drunk. It didn't help with the fits though and he still screamed through it all.

Kyler had lots of cavities. So he had to be put under General Anesthesia when he got his fixed. He did so good though, and was so excited to get his teeth fixed.
He was a little drunk when he woke up and was saying the funniest things. He thinks it pretty cool he has silver teeth.

Valentines Day

Kyler got to take Valentines to exchange at school. He did such a good job filling them out! It was all he could talk about for a week.

Daddy did a good job like every year getting mommy a present! We got to celebrate early because he had to work on Valentine's Day.

The Boys loved their gifts! They got new movies, chocolate, and tickets to Disney On Ice.
On Valentine's Day Mommy and the Boys went out on a date to Mcdonalds. This was snapped right before we went.

Christmas 2014

Santa found us and spoiled us all!
Santa brought the boys a Car Track, Basketball Hoop, and a Disneyland PlaySet. They also got Clothes, Books, Games, and a Swing Set from Mom and Dad.

We then headed to Grandma and Grandpa's house to exchange and open presents. We then came home and got ready and headed down to Aunt Wendy's house. She made a big meal for us all and we got to Skype Uncle Rhett!
After that we came home and played with our presents and before you knew it it was bedtime!

Christmas Eve.

On Christmas Eve we went to dinner at Grandma and Grandpa Harris'
Great Grandma and Grandpa Adamson were there.
We exchanged gift there and headed over to Grandma and Grandpa Abplanalp's.
We watched the Nativity Movie and then had our yearly fishpod.
We then drove around and saw the lights, while we were doing that the boys fell asleep.

So then Mommy and Daddy put the cookies or well the cookie dough out for Santa and finished wrapping the presents.

Family Christmas Salt Lake Trip and Savior Of The World

We started our Trip at Gardner Village looking for the Elves!

We then went to Camera Shy and had their pictures done.

The boys then got to go see Santa Clause.

And then we went to Temple Square. The boys were so naughty though that we didn't stay long.

A couple days later I got to have a Girl's Night out with such a fun group! We went to dinner and to see Savior Of The World. It was absolutely amazing and such a great thing to get into the Christmas Spirit!
