The Walker

I've been wanting to get Kyler a walker for a few weeks, and today I broke down and bought one!! He loves it. I was nervous about buying one because I didn't now how tall they go upto. So I figured I'd just get one and try it. Luckily it works! I was hoping to find one that was a bit more neutral but I fell in love with this one, the seat is so cute. It's jungle animals in bright squares since you can't really see it. He is also saying mama, at least when he wants. He won't say it when you are saying it and he knows you want him to. He also makes this cute little popping sound with his lips, I just love it. I had tried to put some videos on the other day of him laughing, fake coughing, and squealing, but they were taking forever to load. I did get the one of him in his walker today because I took it on my phone. As you will also see my baby once again being camera shy in the pictures.

As for me and JJ not to much is new. JJ started the new semester of school a few weeks ago and likes the classes he is taking alot more than the ones he took last semester. He is just going and going all the time. He is so awesome!! We also were able to file our taxes and are so pleased with our return, it was alot more than what I was expecting. That will definitely help with somethings we want to do this year. Also, I finally got motivated to start dieting again. I wouldn't call it a new years resolution though since I didn't start till 3 weeks after the New Year. I am quite happy with myself its been 8 days and I've lost 14 pounds. I've only cheated once, but still didn't come close to my daily calories. And yes counting calories is annoying, but thankfully our new phones have an app. that you just put in what you ate and your exercises and it calculates it all for you!! I did decide today that I need to be eating a few more calories I've looked at the past week and was shocked at how low some days were. I am getting help from my doctor, he was the one that put me on the plan and to keep me motivated he is having me come in every month to weigh and talk about what happened through the month. When I went in and decided to start he told me he wants the weight coming off slow and steady, so not like this week. So I figure for the next three weeks I'm still going to eat healthy but just try to eat a few more calories, so its not like I'm starving my body. I'm also very excited because my wonderful husband, let me buy an ab glider and another glider that is like a gazelle from what I've seen. They were on sale at ridiculously low prices, that's probably why he didn't mind. lol. I'm hoping to get them in a week, and so can't wait to have something different to do than the elliptical. So that's the happenings with us for the week.

Shopping Adventure

Yesterday I decided to go over to Logan with JJ. He has class, but me and Kyler went shopping. We first went to Walmart. I had to get a prescription filled and while I was talking to the pharmacist, Kyler sat and flirted with this pregnant lady who was just in love with him. And went on and on about how cute he was. We went looking around while they were filling it, and he decided he wanted to hold my hand the whole time. So as we were walking around another pregnant girl and her mother walked by us and commented on how cute he was and how adorable it was that he was holding my hand. She was having a boy to in about a month and couldn't wait. After I got my prescription and checked out we went over to Kohl's. I've been wanting to get Kyler some pj's Carter makes for Valentines day and St. Patrick's day. Knowing how fast they sell I knew I was going to be lucky if they had them. I was able to get the St. Patrick's Day set and bib, but only the bib for Valentines day. I also got the Birthday day boy one because they were all on sale. I got up to the check out stand and a lady that was in line started playing with Kyler and then looked at me and asked if I had a coupon I was going to use. I said no, and then she gave me one for 30% of. She said, "You young moms can use the help every once in awhile." It made my day!! I saved like $40 there. I then decided to go to Old Navy and check out their Valentines Day stuff, and sure enough I found a set for him I loved. They are rearranging the store a little bit so I had to ask a lady that worked there were they were and she took me right over. Well sure enough Kyler gave her a big smile and she sat and wanted to play with him for a while. Its been the first time in quite awhile since I took Kyler shopping with me, so the people coming up and telling me his so cute is a new thing to me. It was nice to hear though, and I even saved money because of him. When we checked out at Old Navy they gave Kyler a sucker, and he was in heaven. I've never given him suckers or candy before so he was in love. We headed back up to get JJ and when I parked I looked back and Kyler was asleep with blue slobber all over his face. It was so cute!! So I of course snapped some pictures of him. It was such a fun day with my little boy, it seems like its been forever since I got out of the house to just go shopping instead of grocery shopping. Thanks to the lady that gave me the coupon and one I had for Old Navy the things I got Kyler only came to $20!! Which is such a deal on Carter's clothing. I can't wait for spring either, both Old Navy and Kohl's had such cute clothes out.

JJ called him Smurf Boy for the rest of the day!!

I love his little puckered lips in this one!!
I'm hoping this one will fit him where they only had it in a 12 month. He's between 12 and 18 months right now, so I might have to get crafty.

This makes me sad to think his Birthday is in less than 3 months.I just can't believe it!!

9 months and counting

Yesterday Kyler turned 9 months. Its crazy to think its been that long since I had him, and April just keeps creeping closer and closer. Where he was sick this week we had taken him to the doctor and was able to get his stats. He is 31 & 7/8 inches and 22.8lbs. and his head circumference is 19 inches. He is off the charts with his height and head circumference, and 88 percentile for his weight. The doctor said he's about the size of an average 15 month old. I can't believe what a big boy I have. He is starting to look like such a little boy. In the pictures to me not as much but when you see him in person he does. Right now he loves playing peek-a-boo. I swear he could play that all day long. He just laughs constantly when playing it. He is seriously in love with his basketball hoop tpo. He likes all his toys, but that one is the one he always wants to play with. He is also starting to get into cars and trucks, he loves rolling them around on the carpet. He isn't crawling yet, he hasn't figured out how to get up on his knees. But he rolls and scoots everywhere. He loves the kitchen, and is always rolling in there, not sure why. He now has four teeth! His top two finally popped through Saturday. The poor little guy has had a rough week with being sick and cutting teeth, finally feeling much better though. To make it worse, I decided to start weening him off his Binky. WOOHOO!! He hasn't had it for 3 days now, and is actually doing really well without it. He gets a little upset when nap time comes, but usually if he has something to chew on he won't cry. He also loves to watch football. He will just sit on JJ's lap and watch it with him. I'm thinking its because all the colors, but its still so cute. He is also starting to dance when there is music on. Yesterday in church we were singing the closing hymn and JJ had him standing on his lap and he started swaying back and forth it was so cute. He is also very camera shy. Anytime I try to get pictures of him he stops smiling and usually won't look at the camera. He has so many different expressions, and faces that are so cute, but once the camera comes out its just the same old face.I was lucky to get some of the shots I got of him today. And don't judge me, he has dried medicine on his face and no pants on lol.

Playing Peek-a-boo
Finally a big cheeser picture

Practicing

As I mentioned before I ordered the pans for Kyler's birthday. I also have wanted to try to decorate a cake with fondant frosting before to, and figured his cakes would be easier to decorate with fondant . So I picked some up yesterday and decided to make a practice test since JJ wanted a treat. I haven't gotten the pans yet, so I just did the square cake. Fondant is a little more tricky than I thought it would be, but I thought for my first time it turned out pretty good. I now at least know what to expect. So here it is...
I really liked the colors, but the black is hard to get black! And then you can see ever thing on it, probably wasn't the best idea to use white frosting to put the decorations on. I'm hoping to practice a little more before his birthday to get a bit better.

Shutterfly did it again!!

Shutterfly did it again!! I got an email today offering a free 20 page photo book!! I can't express how much I love Shutterfly right now!! I was able to get most of the pictures I have of Kyler through out the year in it. And I loved all the layouts they have for the pages. I'm so excited to get it!!

Being a Mom

Tonight Kyler came down with the flu. This is the second time, and it just makes my heart ache to see him when he is sick. I was hoping the flu shots would keep this away but unfortunately he caught it again. It makes my heart break when I go in to clean him up after he has thrown up and he tries so hard to be happy and then starts crying because he hurts. He tries so hard to smile and cue at me, but it doesn't last for long. I wish there was someway to make it go away. I have found myself being emotional about him lately. I taking the time to rock him to sleep instead of just laying him down in his crib, because I miss it. He still is pretty good at cuddling with you, but not as much as he use to be, and I miss that too. Everyday I look at him and can't believe how much he has grown. I love him so much. I love seeing him go through all the stages of growing and doing new things, but I find myself missing all of them too. He isn't as advanced as some babies his age and I'm sorta glad because it makes it so he'll be a baby that much longer. Since I've been up all night, being to scared to go to bed in case I fall into a deep sleep and don't hear him, I ran across a few poems that I just loved and wanted to share. The fist is alot of how I've been feeling...
Before I Was A Mom
"Before I was a mom, I made and ate hot meals, wore unstained clothes, and had quiet conversations on the phone."
"Before I was a mom, I never worried about how late I went to bed, because I could sleep in as long as I wanted.''
"Before I was a mom, I washed my face and brushed my teeth everyday."
"Before I was a mom, I slept the whole night through."
"Before I was a mom, I had a clean house everyday and I didn't worry weather or not my plants were poisonous.''
"Before I was a mom, I had never been pucked on, pooped on, peed on, chewed on, or been pinched my little fingers."
"Before I was a mom, I had complete control over my mind, thoughts and body."
"Before I was a mom, I had never held down a screaming child while doctors and nurses did test or gave shots. I never felt my heart break into a million pieces because I couldn't stop the hurt."
"Before I was a mom, I never looked into teary eyes and cried."
"Before I was a mom, I never got gloriously happy over a toothless grin."
Before I was a mom, I never held a sleeping baby because I didn't want to put it down. I
never was up in the wee hours of the night just watching a baby while it slept. I never knew
something so small could effect my life so tremendously."
"Before I was a mom, I never knew I could love someone so unconditionally and completely."
"Before I was a mom, I never knew how satisfying it is to feed a hungry child. I never knew how fulfilling it is to soothe a baby's cry."
"Before I was a mom, I loved my mom, but didn't understand her."
"Before I was a mom, I never knew the warmth, the joy, the heartache, the wonderment, or the fulfillment of being a mom."
Before I was a mom, I never knew I would love being a mom."
-Sharon L. Twitchell
This next one I thought was really neat, and about made me cry...
When God Created Mothers
When the good Lord was creating mothers, He was into his sixth day of overtime, when an angel appeared and said,"You're doing alot of fiddling around on this one." And the Lord said,"Have you read the spec. on this one? She has to be completely washable, but not plastic; have 180 move able parts, all replaceable; run on caffeine and leftovers; have a lap that disappears when she stands up; a kiss that can cure anything from a broken leg to a disappointed love affair; and
six pairs of hands." The angel shook her head slowly and said,"Six pairs of hands...no way." "It's not the hands that are causing me problems," said the Lord. "It's the three pairs of eyes mothers have to have." "That's on the standard model?" asked the angel. The Lord nodded. "One pair that can see through closed doors when she asks, 'What are you kids doing in there?' when she already knows. Another here, in the back of her head that sees what she shouldn't, but what she has to know, and of course the ones here in front that can look at a child when they goof up and say,' I understand and I love you,' without so much as uttering a word." "Lord," said the angel, touching his sleeve gently, "Rest for now. Tomorrow..." "I can't," said the Lord. "I'm so close to creating something close to myself. Already I have one who heals herself when she is sick, can feed a family of six with one pound of hamburger, and can get a nine year old to stand under a shower. "The angel circled the model of the mother very slowly. "She's to soft." she sighed. "But tough!" Said the Lord excitedly. "You cannot imagine what the mother can do or endure." "Can she think?" "Not only think, but she can reason and compromise.'' said the Creator. Finally the angel bent over and ran her finger across the cheek. "There's a leak," she pronounced. ''I told you, you were trying to put too much into this model." "It's not a leak," said the Lord. "It's a tear." ''What's it for?" "It's for joy, sadness, disappointment, pain, loneliness, pride." "You're a genius." said the angel. The Lord looked somber, "I didn't put it there."

I hope all you moms enjoyed these!!

Starting 2011

So one of my goals for this year is blogging more. Its pretty much my only form of a journal, and I'm actually in the process of turning my blog post into a book. I'm way excited about it. And I just want to make sure I put up all the cute little moments with Kyler and everything else that happens with us.

Anyways the other day I snapped the cutest picture of JJ and Kyler. They were playing on the floor together and I decided to take a picture and after I was so glad I did because it was just so cute!! These are a few I've taken this week!
He still loves his jumeroo!!
I have to give a Big Thank You to Shutterfly!! The picture with JJ and Kyler I accidentally deleted off my memory card and the only place I had saved it too was Shutterfly. Not only that but I received 125 free photo prints from them over the holidays plus our Christmas cards. I was very pleased too, for some reason the pictures I take with my new camera I don't think look very good when I put them on the computer, but after I seen them printed I can tell there is such a huge difference from my old camera. So Shutterfly THANK YOU!!! Now I just have almost 200 pictures of Kyler I need to Scrapbook, and I have no idea where I'm going to get the time to do it. I might just have to settle for a photo album.

We also ordered the cake pans for Kylers birthday cakes. I'm so excited about them. I decided I was going to make them, instead of ordering one. We are going to do a Number 1 cake and also a turtle cake. Where most of our families are around here we figured we'd have them over so we're going to need two cakes. I know its early to be think about his birthday but I know the next 3 months are going to fly right on by.
