Dang it!

Is what Kyler would say over and over again tonight while watching the Superbowl. Mom on the other hand said a few other choice words while watching it. We are big 49er fans, and watching them struggle in the beginning, then watching them come back and losing by only 3 in the last minute of the game was heartbreaking. But we will be good sports and congratulate the Baltimore Ravens and their fans on their win tonight!

I find it so funny how Kyler will hardly sit and watch cartoons or movies but if there is a football or basketball game on he is glued to the tv. And will usually cheer for both sides unless he knows we like one of the teams or if he likes their uniforms then he just cheers for the one. It's so much fun to watch him becoming more and more of a little boy and such a sports enthusiast. I think Xander will be right along with him when be gets a little older. He was all excited watching the game tonight and we even got him to clap for the first time! He wasn't to fond of the end result though...

Trying To Figure Out The Camera

I lots of learning to do still, but these are just a few of my favorites I have snapped so far. I know most of them are of Xander but he is just 100 times easier to take them of since he isn't on the move yet.

 

 

 

Xander at 6 Months

 

Xander at 6 Months is:

 

29 & 1/4 inches tall

 

18 pounds 12 ounces

 

Favorite foods are bananas, berry melody, and peas

 

 

Rolls over from his back to his belly, still working on the other way

 

Still loves to suck on his hands and has started to suck on his feet

 

Sits up all by himself

 

Tries to mimic sounds you make at him, and jabbers all the time

 

Makes a game out of everything and is always laughing and smiling

 



 

Still trying to cut his teeth, but hasn't been overly grumpy about it

 

Reachs out for things or for someone to hold him

 

Likes to feel textures of things

 

 

Loves bath time and to splash

 

Sleeps at least 8 hours threw the night! (Finally!!)

 

 

Gets lots of attention where every we go! And loves to flirt.

 

Six Months

I'll be doing a bigger post once I can upload pictures from my camera and after we take him to the doctor. But today this handsome little thing turned six months!! It so doesn't feel like it's been that long. We sure love him though and the cute little personality he is getting!!

Hibernation

Anyone else feel like they are hibernating? We haven't been out of the house all week and lets just say we are all very ready to be able to go outside without freezing!! Having weather in the negatives sure isn't fun!
Unfortunately Kyler still isn't going potty...so I guess we'll try again in a few week. Xander is actually sleeping in his crib though! So at least I was able to accomplish one thing I wanted. There hasn't been to much going on around here though. Just playing, watching movies, kids throwing fits, and mom doing lots of crocheting.

A couple of the hats I've made Kyler...to cover up his hair since he found some scissors and cut a big chuck out of the back and then threw a fit while I tried to fix it. Thankful it'll grow back let's just hope it does fast, until then he'll be wearing hats when we are out and about. I've also made a few for Xander but haven't snapped any pictures of them yet.

And finally my Camera got here today...and I'm in love!!! JJ originally had ordered me a Nikon but it kept getting back-ordered. A few weeks ago when we were in Sam's Club we were looking at the ones they had and he really liked the Canon one, I thought either was fine. But when he got the last email saying the Nikon had been back ordered again we decided to just cancel the order. We got looking around and found this one on an awesome deal, it's the newer version of the one we played with at Sam's. I just love it!! It has so many neat features and I can't wait to learn how to use it all! But just on auto I couldn't believe how the pictures looked, but since our laptop decided too bite the dust I won't be able to upload any for awhile.

That's been us the past week or so....hoping this weather gets over soon so we can actually get outside without getting sick or freezing!!

One Long Week Ahead

So as I sit here awake at 3am I'm starting to realize I may have bitten off more than I can chew for this week! JJ went back to work tonight and I sure am missing him being home all the time already! For me with his work schedule today is my Monday. So with that I decided to try and do two big things this week....

Potty Train Kyler! I finally got a little basket of goodies put together to try and motivate him. The kid knows exactly what to do. He will sit on the toilet for 5 minutes get up act like he's wiping his bum and flush it, but will not actually go!!! He has even started going over to the toilet lifted up the lid and will grab the front of his pants or diaper and at like he is peeing like daddy. I just wish he would start to actually go in the potty...this mommy is getting a little frustrated!

Get Xander To Actually Sleep In His Crib! He just refuses to sleep in the crib, he'll only fall asleep in his swing or rocker and he is starting to get to big for them. With Kyler I did the crying out method but it's hard to do that with a 2 year old that is very protective over his baby brother and doesn't like it when he cries, it is very cute just a bit irritated when your exhausted and just want the kids to sleep.


Plus trying to get back into exercising and getting over the flu still, I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed already! Hopefully it'll get easier as the week progresses at least that's what I'm praying and hoping for! I also got a e-mail today saying my Christmas present will finally be here next week so I guess I can look at that as my reward! Even though waiting for it may make this week seem even longer. At least when they aren't crying or mad at me I get to see these cute little smiles and faces! Even during the frustrating times I am so grateful for them and wouldn't trade being their mom for the world!

Happy New Year

We hope everyone had a safe a fun New Years Day!

J.J. and the boys fell asleep before midnight last night so I rang in the New Year by myself. It was nice though I put on one of my shows made a nice relaxing bath and just enjoyed it while the house was quite! Especially since I've been sick all week it was nice being able to relax for awhile.

Today my dad's family got together for their party. We always do white elephant gifts even though they actually turn out to be really good gifts for the most part. We ended up with a blanket, book, candy, and pop. So we were content. It was nice getting to see and talk to everyone. Kyler loved great-grandmas gumball/mandm machine, by the time we left he had figured out how to put the penny in turn it and get the mandm's out. The boys pretty much got another Christmas present too from them. They sold their cabin they had and found a Radio Flyer red wagon brand new in the box while they were cleaning things out, and they gave it to the boys! I know Kyler will absolutely love it when it warms up and he can go out back and drag it around and put things in it. Thank You To Great Grandma and Grandpa Abplanalp for it!!!

Now that the holidays are over I'm ready for warm weather...looking at my phone seeing 7degrees makes make sad! But we will just have to make due with the freezing-ness for awhile.

I can't believe it's 2013 already I'm sure it will fly right on by too though! Again we hope everyone had a fun day!
